Inspirational Former Division 1 Basketball Star and Founder of Nothin' But Next Training and Jarmon International Launches Essential Tools to Help Athletes Make Transition to College
HARRISBURG, Pa.—One of Central Pennsylvania’s leading coaches, youth mentors, authors, business and foundation leaders and inspirational speakers, Gerald Jarmon launches NEW essential keys to help high school student-athletes transition successfully to college. Popular Coach Gerald, a former Division 1 college basketball standout and a current teacher at Central Dauphin High School, authors a step-by-step, interactive e-learning series that shows students how to transition successfully to the rigors of college sports and academics and the bustling campus social scene. His tips focus on overcoming adversity, excelling in the classroom and making use of resources to bolster performance and connections inside and outside the sports arena. His easy-to-follow companion book, “The Transition Series: Volume 1,” guides students with practical strategies and worksheets.

Both are available at nothinbutnext.com.
“With the e-learning series and book, I’ve distilled the experience and expertise I gained over the last two decades transitioning successfully from high school to the collegiate level and now as a professional educator and trainer,” said Jarmon. “My passion is working with youth, mentoring and instilling in them the drive to prepare, practice, persevere and perform at their best. The resources I’ve written cover the recruiting process, finding the right college fit, developing strong study, fitness and social-life habits that enable young people to strike a healthy balance between fun and work. It’s always about ‘What’s Next!’”
Coach Gerald was a 4-year starting point guard at the University of Richmond (Div. I), leading the Spiders over the Syracuse Orangemen in one of the NCAA Tournament’s greatest first-round upsets. During his professional career, he played in France, South America and Australia and was named the MVP of the Australian Pro League after averaging 29 pts. per game.
Over the last 15 years, Coach Gerald has coached at the collegiate and high school levels and had the honor of working with thousands of talented youth to help them reach their fullest potential by sharpening and elevating their athletic skills to compete in college and excel in their professional pursuits.

A portion of all proceeds from the book and e-learning series will benefit The 3 Star Foundation to help youth in the City of Harrisburg through holistic training (mind, body and spirit) that focuses on academics, mental health, physical wellness and the foundations of life success.
